keputusan...

Bukan senang nak buat keputusan ni. Dah hampir lima tahun dah.

Keadaan cam ni buat aku tak stabil secara emosi. aku rasa aku sendiri dah lain, aku dah tak macam aku yang dulu. i'm loosening my principle time by time which will lead to further disastrous act. Aku dah lain, aku dah hilang identiti sendiri yang aku boleh maintainkan sebelum ni.

Sebelum ia jadi lebih teruk, lebih baik aku undur diri. mungkin aku belum bersedia nak tanggung semua ni.

lagi pun, first priority masih lagi keluarga. aku ade derang je.. tu pun tak tau baper lama..

Hujan Lebat..

Banjir besar melanda Thailand. Kalau kat Kluang, kat kampung aku, memang aku tak risau langsung. Maklum lah kawasan berbukit bukau. klu banjir, kire tempat lain tenggelam lah.

Kalau kat JB ade risau sket la, camne nak pergi kerja, jalan jem, dan banjir. bukan ley percaya sangat jalan depan kipmart Tampoi sampai kat flyover Perling tuh. Mesti penuh air tu nanti.

Oleh kerana aku kat Korat, so aku lebih risau sebab tahun lepas pada 16 Oct, kilang tempat aku keja banjir sampai paras pinggang. Banyak component utk evaluation aku hanyut. pastu air surut nak kena bersihkan kantin, bersihkan kilang, bersihkan bilik, tengok fixture boleh pakai ke tak n paling tak tahan karpet yang berbau busuk sbb basah.

Harini 10 Oct, lagi 6 hari kira anniversary lah. so semua org takut. Management kilang aku pun takut. Sandbag dah banyak ni siapkan.. Pintu dah banyak kena seal.Pagar pun dah buat baru, yang tidak berlubang, which is aku rasa, kalau air masuk, xde jalan keluar, tempat lain banjir sampai pinggang, kilang kami boleh sampai leher. Apa pun, sape aku nak bantah management nyer keputusan. Mungkin ada faktor lain yang mereka pertimbangkan.

Kat Ayyuthaya, ade kawasan dah naik air sampai 5m. 5m?? cam tak pecaya kan? Tapi tengok dalam TV mmg betul. Walaupun aku tak paham pebenda derang cakap dalam berita, tapi aku paham kot bile tengok rumah nampak bumbung je. kawasan tu memang dekat dengan sungai Chao Phraya. aku rasa supplier thermoform tray aku pun tenggelam tuh.. patut ke aku call derang tanya khabar?

Hati nurani (chewah) aku berat mengatakan tahun ni tak banjir kot Nakhonratchasima ni. Sebab 2-3 minggu lepas hujan lagi superb tapi cuma air parit je naik sekaki-dua. so aku cam yakin tak banjir. Staff2 kat sini pun takde kepoh2 pasal banjir kat umah derang.

So tahun ni tak banjir kot...

nakhon ratchasima - Bangkok - nakhonratchasima, in one day.

Since in the middle week i lost my appetite. Ayam Masak Kicap really disturbing my appetite i guess. in a middle of nowhere, this recipe becomes the background pic in every photo comes to my mind. Since in Korat there are not so many halal restaurant i can find, in fact only one is reachable for me, so i made up my mind to satisfy my hunger in Bangkok.

From Korat 8 am. i took P'win from my Apartment to Nakhonratchasima Old Bus Station. P'win in a simple words - Motorcycle Taxi. its a quite comfortable public ride especially if you want to get to the place faster.

Three to four hours journey from Korat to Bangkok feel nothing because i just sleep inside the bus. the seat in the bus is quite spacious and passengers are given drinks as well as red bean bun and if you travel at night, they will also give you a blanket. and you just need to pay 198THB ~ RM20. i think its really cheap compare to RM3x.xx from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur and we get nothing inside the bus.

As per planned, my first place in list is Chatuchak Market. Kah Jak restaurant is the place i long to be. i manage to find the information kiosk in Morchit Bus Station and i ask for route to any train station and they said its 2 km away and i should go by taxi. The Taxi drop me at JJ mall. Even i've been in Chatuchak weekend market for several times, somehow i didn't recognize this building.

it tooks 30-45 minutes for me to find a way to the weekend market. in order to go to the market, i also need to go through another market (Chatuchak Plaza). i can't help to stop when i saw a shop selling Thai Silk. Since one of my friend in JB ask me to buy for her, so i stopped by. but i really sorry for Miss Fatimah, as the red color at the top one left only about 2 yards. the others is not purely red, they have red on the weft side and black on the warp. so the shine is different. but i didn't buy it as i'm not sure you gonna like it.

time to fill my stomach. i look at the menu, suddenly i didnt look for Ayam masak Kicap, instead i order Phad Thai. after lunch, i walk around the market without purpose.

My next stop will be Siam Paragon. nothing much to do there, just wanna walk around. From Khamphaeng Pet (MRT station near market) i need to change to BTS train and i choose to stop at Sukhumvit (MRT) and continue by BTS at asoke station to Siam Station. Just as i thought, i'm hungry again. and i stop by at an indian restaurant inside the Siam Paragon. its locate inside the Asian Cuisine area. nearby Hokaido Soft & mad about the juice. its quite pricey, but my hunger must be treated like a king.

halal restaurant
can't remember the menu's name

Then next window shopping station will be Central World. buy nothing here.

8 pm i think i completed my tour, i took BTS from Siam to Morchit Station. and unfortunately its raining, i took bus no.77 for Morchit bus Station. 9 pm the bus departed from morchit and 12.30 am, arrive in Nakhonratchasima New bus Station.

its really a satisfying 'a day' journey.

thai silk - beautiful imperfection

Few weeks ago i bought thai silk for my mother in Bangkok then i proudly told my friends in Korat that i manage to get the price that quite cheap. Then suddenly they smiles and ask me, "Do you know where the Silk come from?".

They ask to find the info myself and i starts to look for the info in internet. and then i know that most of the silk come from Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima). Yup, why should i go that far when i can it get here.

So Pak Thong Chai is the place for me to look for more thai silk. From Korat's bus station u can go by bus less then 1 hr and 30 THB and asj them to stop you near Pak Tong Chai hospital.

one of the thai silk boutique
There are more than 10 thai silk boutique here. and all of them is selling their own product which means they have their own facilities to weave their own silk.

silk.
Thai silk is very different from other type of silk that i know. Most of the silk i know have satiny look as well as very soft and thin. Thai silk however is thicker, quite rough similar to cotton and most of them is not too silky.

at first glance, you will not know that it is silk fabric (for me at least). then when you look closer, you will know that the lustre is very different from other fabric. The shimmering effect come from the prism-like structure of silk fibre. and for thai silks normally they will use two different tones of colour for each weft and weft so the sheen in exclusive.

plenty of choice
luv them all

too pale i think..

Most of people will feel a bit frustrated when they inspect the fabric as the will find it not flawless to their expectation. The original handweave thai silk is not perfect, some say the imperfect flaw on the silk what makes them really expensive and exclusive. it what makes them different with imitation silk. You can see the small flaws or joins bump between thread along the warp & weft.

white color thai silk cost about 6000THB
there are a few ways to differentiate between real & imitation thai silk.

1. Price - of course the price is much higher that normal / imitation fabric. normally thai silk price cost       10 times more expensive compare with their imitation. using this method only will not help if you are not  familiar with fabrics.
2. The weave - there are flaws from the join between 2 thread. and different tones thread used for weft and warp
3. Burn test - burned silk will smell like burned hair and leave fine ash, as soon as we take the flame away from the thread, it will stop burning. the imitation will continues burn and it will drip.
4. wedding ring test - a yard of thai silk will be easily  pulled through a wedding ring
